Democrats Take The High Road, After All Else Fails

Chip Franklin

An Alabaman church is comparing Roy Moore’s accusers to the Romans and going on to compare Moore’s plight to the guy for whom after they named their church.

Here’s the problem with that logic; JC didn’t fondle 14 year-olds. And to quote a t-shirt from the 70’s, “Jesus is coming, and boy is he pissed!” But the real question is not “why do they love Moore so much,” but instead, “what is it about the Democratic party they so vehemently hate?”

I refuse to believe that all Alabamans are racist, homophobic and misogynistic, but I do believe many are, like the t-shirt says, pissed; pissed at liberals who mock their education, religion and way of life. We joke and condescend to much of the south, even as we stumble over our own shortcomings.

But even with Franken’s resignation, progressives are far short of the high road. From Hollywood to Bill Clinton, we turned a deaf ear to 8+ years of harassment, not to mention the Harvey Weinsteins still among us. Why? Because we want to win. And the price seems to be we will soon have a child molester in the US Senate. And some of that is on us.
