Trump: A Cancer On The Presidency
Watching Meet The Press this morning, I actually cringed for Rand Paul as he tried to defend Trump over his racist comments. Echoing Paul Ryan, McConnell, Cruz and all of FOX news, they continue to characterize Trump as “inappropriate, unfortunate, and unhelpful.” FOX’s Hannity, Waters, and Kilmeade say he speaks for the average American.
Oh. My. God. You spineless pricks.
Calling Haiti and Africa shitholes, while inviting whites from Norway, is just the latest racist diatribe from Trump, whose dark history dates back to the 70’s, where he and his father were fined by the Justice Dept. for discriminating against black renters by putting the letter “C” on their applications. “C” for colored.
But we know who Trump is. The rest of the GOP is a sad surprise. The Trump reckoning will happen, either this fall, in 2020, or at the sharp end of a federal indictment. But the Republicans who keep silent as Trump attacks black Americans, Africans, Mexicans, Salvadorans, gays, transgenders, women, and even the disabled, will not be forgotten.
By using Trump’s dark popularity to further legislative agendas, and by extension their own wallets, Americans who support this president are, in my book, still Americans in the same way a tumor is still a part of my body. Their fear is as dark and toxic as Trump’s words. And both must be removed.
