Putin’s Nuke Threat Might Be His Biggest Mistake

Russia’s President for life might soon find his over-the-top threats to the west, that he will use any and all weapons at his disposal, contain an ironic wrinkle.

The Oligarch and Generals in the Russian government and military understand that while a nuclear showdown between the east and west still embraces MAD, the mutually assured destruction of both parties, the United States still has an upper hand in the number and reliability of nuclear weapons.

Putin’s flank may seem supportive now, but should tensions increase and the world teeters on the brink of war, the only solution might be the elimination of the man responsible for the escalation.

How that might occur is pure speculation, as many of those in Putin’s circle would be help accountable should Putin surrender to forces inside his country. And Putin, one of the world’s richest men, has no possible ending that finds him seeking sanctuary on a third world beach. He lives or dies. And that has the west understandably worried.

It doesn’t help when SC Senator Lindsey Graham, who genuflected to Trump throughout his presidency, is now openly encouraging Russians to assassinate Putin. That kind of talk does little to deescalate the tension. Putin has no reason to bring the world to the brink of nuclear war. Yet.

And should that moment come, will Russians follow Graham’s advice, or will they, as Graham did, a cower in fear at the dark whims of a mad man?
