Let The Rich White Man (Mis)Speak

October 28th, 2017

When Bob McNair, owner of the NFL’s Houston Texans and multi-million dollar Trump campaign contributor said, regarding kneeling players, “We can’t have the inmates running the prison,” he pretty much meant, “We can’t have the slaves running the plantation.” So much for dog whistles and coded language — these guys are coming right out and saying it: ‘I’m rich, I’m white, and I own these entertaining colored people. How dare they mess up the show. Don’t they know who I am?’ In Trump’s new Alt-Right America, racists are coming out the closet so fast the hinges are on fire.
