A Human Stain

February 18th, 2020

Aubrey Huff is a former major-leaguer who could hit a baseball. Unfortunately, his talent ended there. A World Series veteran for the San Francisco Giants, Huff took to Twitter like a turd to a bowl. He has consistently tweeted homophobic, misogynistic, and even violent threats to Americans on the back of his jock-popularity. One Tweet had he and his son at a shooting range with Huff saying he was preparing the boy for a Sanders presidency.

So now the San Francisco Giants, planning the 10th anniversary of their Series title, have told Huff that, because of his public tirade, he would not be invited to the event. The right-wing gun brigade’s response echoed Huff’s; political correctness run amuck and 1st and 2nd amendment rights denied.

This where I can’t help but smile. The likes of Huff demean all conservatives, gun rights advocates, and most importantly, defenders of the bill of rights.

This isn’t about bad words. It’s about words from a bad human. Huff denigrates women, LGBT, and incites violence against those who disagree. He’s stain on decency, and the Giants aren’t violating anyone’s constitutional rights. They’re guarding their brand against a vile smell. Politically correct? No, they’re just correct.
