Trump’s unwillingness to address that Americans over 60, and especially those with underlying medical conditions, are in harms way from the Coronavirus, is troubling to say the least. They are the most likely to be hospitalized and the most likely to die from this virus, which still baffles both scientists and epidemiologists. Despite this, Trump continues to characterize Covid-19 as a political nuisance, overly dramatized by Democrats seeking to unseat him in the fall.
But of course, he’s wrong. In every way you can be wrong.
Trump had a chance to actually prove his critics wrong; that he is capable of leading the country in a crisis, of which this pandemic surely qualifies. But instead, he decided to lie about everything from the spread, the testing kits, and the very nature of the outbreak, saying sunshine can kill it and it could just “disappear.”
But it won’t.
Sunday morning shows are saying that THIS will be the tipping point; that this will wake up Americans to Trump’s dangerous incompetence. But here’s the skinny; Trump’s supporters don’t watch “Meet The Press.” They watch Hannity, Tucker, and Laura Ingraham. And those FOX enablers don’t tell their viewers that Trump is a sociopath, putting their lives and lives of their parents and grandparents at risk. Because there’s no money in telling them the truth. And what is that truth?
There are two diseases at play here; a virus that jumped from animals to humans and one where humans let other humans die for dollars.
And I’m not sure which is worse.
